We are very used to long sunny days but occasionally, just occasionally, we have been known to get a little rain here in Ilfracombe. And sometimes, there's quite a lot...

While it keeps all our plantlife green, and the sea topped up to optimum levels (!), it can mean that we want to do something a little more sheltered than sitting on a beach.

Here's our TOP TEN rainy day Ilfracombe activities!

1

THE CHOCOLATE MUSEUM

These two words will make you delighted it is raining - Chocolate Museum!!

Browse the history of all things chocolate and meet a six foot chocolate man. And yes, there is a shop attached so you can take a heap of the delicious stuff home with you. And if you must, you can give some away as gifts...

The Chocolate Emporium and Museum is on the High Street (opposite the cinema) and entrance is free!

Or go rockpooling! crabs and fish have long failed to understand the concept of rain so will be there regardless. Have a look at our rockpool guides here.
